The chained volume series at previous year prices is obtained from the 2013 average index referenced to the series at current prices in that year. Chained series lose the additivity property of fixed based series; therefore the aggregates differ from the sum of their components.
The contributions to GDP growth are calculated from the series at previous year prices compiled under the chained index method. By definition, these contributions are additive and allow an appropriate year to year economic analysis.
Big North: Regions XV-I-II
Small North: Regions II-IV
Middle: Regions V-VI-VII-VIII
South: Regions IX-XIV-X-XI-XII
