Terms and Conditions

Use of this website of the Central Bank of Chile (hereinafter the "Bank") shall be governed by the terms and conditions of use set forth below (hereinafter "Terms and Conditions of Use").

To use the data provided by the Bank through the Statistics Database (BDE) (hereinafter the "BDE") and the API Web Services (hereinafter the "API") provided through this website (hereinafter the "Website"), you must be registered as a user (hereinafter the "User") and accept the Terms and Conditions of Use.

The BDE is a centralized system of macroeconomic time series. The BDE allows User to combine, transform, visualize, and download statistics produced by the Bank, as well as statistics from other sources.

The information contained in the BDE may be consulted, reproduced, disseminated, published, or adapted, provided that the Bank is clearly identified as the owner of the information. In the case of adaptations that may be published or disseminated, it must be stated that the original information belongs to the Bank or to the appropriate party and that the adaptation is the exclusive property and responsibility of the person who produced it.

By using the information contained on the Website, you accept the Terms and Conditions of Use, as well as any modifications thereof, which may be introduced by the Bank at any time.

The User will be provided with an account that will allow them to save statistical series, tables, and graphs of their choice. Additionally, they will have the option to activate their credentials to use the API, which will allow them to access the statistical series available in the list contained on the Website. The User may review this list and select the series they need.

The sole purpose of the API is to facilitate the collection and use of statistics published by the Bank, providing a direct, standard transmission service between information systems, data, and series obtained directly from the BDE published on the Bank's official website. This enables users to directly consult, download, and use the statistical data contained in the BDE, as well as those in Excel and PDF formats, in the Statistics section of the Bank's website. If the required information is not available in any of the aforementioned systems or databases, please visit: Contacto Central.

From the API, the User may use the maximum number of series presented in the series list. In terms of query frequency, the User may request a maximum of 5 simultaneous series per second (corresponding to 5 API queries) per enabled account, regardless of the IP address(es) making the queries. In the event of non-compliance by the User, the Bank reserves the right to suspend the API temporarily or indefinitely.

The Bank provides the User with free software or an application, as well as Python, R and C# codes, to enable the use of the API, with no technical support responsibility on the part of the Bank. Both the software and the Python, R and C# functions can be downloaded and used voluntarily by the User. However, the User is solely responsible for creating their own programs or using those provided by the Bank in their computer systems, and for making the necessary adjustments and installations for the API to function properly. It is hereby stated that the Bank assumes no responsibility and does not grant any warranty of any kind with respect to the software and functions for their use or application. Furthermore, the User may not commercialize them and must use them exclusively for the purpose for which they were created.

The right to use the information contained on the Website, as described above, is granted indefinitely and at no cost to the User. The Bank reserves the right to modify, add, limit, or revoke such rights, at its sole discretion; to modify the structure, design, and content of the Website; and to deny access to the User, whether for violation of its terms or for any other reason, which shall be determined by the Bank at its sole discretion.

The User agrees to use the Website and the information contained therein under their sole and exclusive responsibility. They expressly acknowledge and accept that the Bank is not responsible and assumes no liability for any loss, damage, expense, or other harmful consequence that may arise from or be caused by accessing the Website or the information contained therein, thereby releasing the Bank from any liability for direct or indirect, foreseen or unforeseen, present or future damages, or any other losses that the User may experience or that may be caused by the information contained on the Website or its use. Therefore, before using or applying the information on the Website in any type of activity, contract, business, or transaction, you must verify the information with the official sources cited in the data, when the source is not the Bank.

The Bank shall not be liable for any damages that are caused or may be caused to the User due to failures or interruptions of the BDE or API, regardless of their source or origin.

The User agrees that they will be solely responsible for the use of the password generated to use the BDE and API, and the Bank is therefore released from any liability for the misuse or fraudulent use of that password.

The User shall indemnify the Bank and protect it from any type of damage, whether direct or indirect, as well as from any claim, action, or lawsuit it may face, including but not limited to expenses incurred by the Bank for legal or other services, arising directly or indirectly from the use of the BDE and API or the information contained on the Website, or resulting from a breach of the Terms and Conditions of Use. Any conflict, controversy, or dispute arising from the access, use, or application of the Website or the information contained therein shall be resolved in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Chile, subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of justice of Santiago. The Bank is not responsible, nor liable under any circumstances, for the content of other organizations' websites that may be linked to this site.
